Initial 3-month contract
Morpeth, Northumberland, once per fortnight onsite
BPSS clearance required
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support a key public sector data transformation programme.
This role is suited to a Microsoft Fabric-focused Data Engineer with strong Azure experience and recent cross-cloud exposure, ideally including AWS. You will be responsible for designing and delivering data integration, transformation and visualisation solutions within Microsoft Fabric, helping the client improve operational insight and support channel shift analysis.
You will work as part of an agile delivery team, providing technical leadership, mentoring less experienced team members and contributing to shared data engineering standards and documentation.
Key responsibilities

You will also integrate data from a range of systems, including contact centre platforms, CRM systems and line-of-business applications. Experience with AWS Connect or similar contact centre platforms would be highly beneficial.
The role will require strong stakeholder engagement, working closely with technical and non-technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver clear, meaningful insight.

• 7+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer
• Strong Microsoft Fabric experience
• Expert-level Azure data engineering experience
• Recent AWS cross-cloud exposure
• Experience building bronze, silver and gold data pipelines
• Strong Lakehouse and semantic model optimisation experience
• Power BI dashboard and reporting experience
• Experience integrating CRM, contact centre and line-of-business platforms
• Strong data quality, data matching and transformation experience
• Agile delivery experience
• Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor others
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
