Role description
Sr. Data Engineer Location: Woburn, MA (Onsite – 5 Days/Week) Duration: 6+ Months Contract ONSITE INTERVIEW REQUIRED Overview Seeking an experienced Sr. Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric and Azure technologies, modern data architectures, ETL/ELT development, and enterprise-grade security and governance. Required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or Platform Engineering. • 5+ years building production data solutions on the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and at least two of: • Azure Data Factory • Synapse • Databricks • Azure SQL • Power BI • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python. • Experience with Spark and data processing frameworks such as Pandas, PyArrow, Polars, DuckDB, and NumPy. • Strong knowledge of modern data architectures (Lakehouse, Medallion, etc.). • Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and environment promotion. • Hands-on experience implementing enterprise security and access controls. • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause analysis skills. • Experience working in large-scale or regulated environments. Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer certification (DP-700) or willingness to obtain within six months. • Additional certifications such as DP-600 or DP-203. • Experience with performance optimization and cost-efficient data platforms. • Exposure to analytics and AI-driven data solutions. • Leadership experience and ability to mentor junior engineers.
