Senior Data Engineer – 6-Month Contract | London | Insurance Sector We're exclusively recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer to join a leading organisation within the Property & Casualty Insurance sector. πŸ“ Location: London (Hybrid) ⏳ Contract: 6 months (potential extension) πŸ“ Sector: Insurance – Property & Casualty πŸ’Ό Work Type: Contract (Inside IR35/Outside – subject to discussion) You’ll be embedded within the Actuarial team, building scalable data platforms and pipelines to support pricing analysis. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, lead third-party collaborations, and play a critical role in optimising and managing robust data infrastructure. πŸ”§ Key Responsibilities: β€’ Collaborate with pricing actuaries and analysts to gather technical and business requirements. β€’ Architect a scalable, secure data platform and design ETL pipelines. β€’ Integrate internal and third-party data sources using tools like SQL Server, Databricks, Azure, and APIs. β€’ Lead third-party engineering teams to deliver on time and at high quality. β€’ Support existing SQL-based systems and investigate/resolve data anomalies. β€’ Continuously optimise platform performance and recommend architectural improvements. βœ… You’ll Need: β€’ Proven experience as a Data Engineer (ideally in the insurance or financial sector). β€’ Expertise in SQL Server, ETL frameworks, and data pipeline development. β€’ Solid knowledge of Python, Azure, AWS, and tools like Databricks, Glue, S3, etc. β€’ Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and data quality issues. β€’ Comfortable translating actuarial or analytical needs into scalable data solutions. β€’ Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. πŸ’‘ This is an urgent requirement and interviews will be arranged quickly for the right candidate.
