Senior Data Engineer - 12-Month FTC - Finance and Actuarial Data Integration - Lloyd's Market
Overview:
This role will provide data engineering expertise to integrate Finance and Actuarial modules into a new Azure Data Platform. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Azure technologies, SQL Server, and Finance/Actuarial data processes within insurance, with a focus on delivering solutions while engaging with senior business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and implement data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform (Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database).
β’ Provide technical guidance to the project development team.
β’ Bridge communication gaps between offshore, third-party, internal teams, and business stakeholders.
β’ Track and manage development progress, working closely with project managers and scrum masters.
β’ Foster relationships to align expectations between team members and stakeholders.
β’ Ensure solutions are properly tested, documented, and meet business needs.
β’ Manage tasks and ensure agreed-upon delivery timelines.
Key Skills & Experience:
β’ Expertise in database design, performance optimization, and data warehousing.
β’ Strong experience with Azure data technologies, including Azure Databricks, SQL Database, Data Factory, and T-SQL.
β’ In-depth understanding of London Market insurance data and Actuarial/Finance business processes.
β’ Experience with ETL processes, data modelling, and dimensional modelling techniques.
β’ Proficient with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, GIT, and deployment strategies.
β’ Proven track record in delivering cloud-based enterprise data solutions and supporting analytics/reporting functions.
β’ Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server, including creating stored procedures for complex data transformations.
β’ Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
