About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to build and maintain enterprise data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Excel, ETL development, and modern cloud data platforms. This role also requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position based in Dublin, CA, requiring 1-2 days onsite per week. Local candidates are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Build and maintain data models that support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
• Develop and manage data infrastructure for large-scale enterprise datasets.
• Perform ad-hoc data analysis and reporting requests using SQL and Python.
• Collaborate with business users to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Deploy and support machine learning models in production environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data engineering and application issues.
• Ensure data quality, governance, performance optimization, and reliability.
• Follow software engineering best practices including unit testing, source control, and CI/CD.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL, or Data Warehousing.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Snowflake
• SQL
• Microsoft Excel
• Experience designing and optimizing data models.
• Experience with machine learning model deployment.
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence and data access tools.
• Experience with software engineering practices including CI/CD, Unit Testing, and Source Control.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong ETL experience using Informatica, particularly integrating data from SAP environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience working with Python for ad-hoc data processing and automation.
• Experience with data engineering tools such as:
• Spark
• Palantir Foundry
• SAP BODS
• OBIEE
• Experience working in the Banking, Financial Services, Utilities, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Work Environment
• Hybrid schedule (typically 1-2 days onsite per week, occasionally fully remote depending on business needs).
• Company laptop will be provided. If there is a temporary delay, a personal laptop capable of connecting through Citrix/VDI may be required.
