Position: Data Lead / Senior Data Engineer Location: Atlanta GA or Charlotte NC (Hybrid) Only Local profiles Type of hire: FTC or FTE Job Details: We are seeking a seasoned Data Lead / Senior Data Engineer to join our team as a technical anchor for a data platform. In this role, you won't just be building pipelines; you’ll be the bridge between complex business requirements and scalable technical reality. You will lead the development of robust ETL processes, support a team of developers, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure customer's data infrastructure evolves alongside our business goals. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Development: Good understanding of data platforms and ETL frameworks, design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, AWS Glue, Snowflake, and dbt (optional). β€’ Orchestration & Automation: Build and manage sophisticated workflow schedules using AWS Airflow (MWAA) and other native AWS Services. β€’ Agile Leadership: Own the project lifecycle within JIRA, from sprint planning and task breakdown to maintaining rigorous design documentation. β€’ Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with the Project Manager and Data Engineering Team Leads to translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical requirements and identify potential project risks early. β€’ Technical Mentorship: Act as a lead for the development team, providing technical guidance, conducting thorough code reviews, and helping peer developers digest complex requirements. β€’ Operational Excellence: Support the Data Operations/Production Support teams in troubleshooting critical issues and ensuring high system uptime. β€’ Strategic Planning: Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap, identifying opportunities for tool optimization and architectural improvements. Required Technical Skills: Category Skills & Tools Cloud Infrastructure AWS (Glue, S3, IAM, MWAA/Airflow) Data Warehousing Snowflake (SnowSQL, Performance Tuning) Languages Python (Advanced), SQL Data Modeling (Optional) dbt (Data Build Tool), Star/Snowflake Schema Task Management JIRA, Agile/Scrum Methodologies What We’re Looking For: β€’ The "Technical Translator": You can talk shop with engineers but also explain a technical bottleneck to a PM in a way that makes sense for the business. β€’ The Mentor: You enjoy helping others level up and believe that a solid code review is an opportunity for teaching, not just nitpicking. β€’ The Problem Solver: You don't just fix a production bug; you look for the root cause and implement a fix that prevents it from happening again. β€’ The Planner: You are organized and understand that a well-documented design and a clean JIRA board are essential for team velocity.
