Senior Snowflake Engineer - Contract
Location: Hybrid, London (2 days onsite per week)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 6 months
Inside IR35 - Rate depending on experience
We are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Engineer to join a banking client. This role will focus on enhancing and migrating risk data platforms to a modern Snowflake and Power BI architecture, supporting business-critical analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and develop Snowflake data models and pipelines (ETL/ELT) to support market and risk analytics.
β’ Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring accuracy, usability and performance.
β’ Contribute to the migration of legacy SQL Serverβbased risk systems to Snowflake / Power BI.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to capture requirements and translate into scalable data solutions.
β’ Implement dbt for data transformation and modelling.
β’ Use Python for automation, data integration and analysis tasks.
β’ Troubleshoot performance issues and optimise queries, pipelines and reporting layers.
Key Requirements
β’ 5 years + Snowflake experience.
β’ Strong SQL and data modelling expertise (star / snowflake schemas).
β’ Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and dbt.
β’ Skilled in Power BI (including DAX) and delivering high-quality visualisations.
β’ Hands-on with Python for data processing and automation.
β’ Background in financial services
β’ Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
