Job#: 3022284 Job Description: Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Pay Rate: $30-35/hr Openings: 1 Engagement: Contract through End of Year Location: Telecommute (Remote) Work Hours: Flexible, 8-hour days between 7:00am-5:00pm Central Project Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, build, optimization, and governance of enterprise data solutions on Azure Cloud, Databricks, and Snowflake. This role will be responsible for architecting scalable data pipelines, ensuring high data quality, supporting advanced analytics initiatives, and guiding the modernization of existing on-premise SQL Server ETL processes and data cubes into a cloud-based environment. The Senior Data Engineer will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers across multiple projects. Team Structure • The candidate will work with up to 10 team members and customers, including engineers, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders. Top Responsibilities • Lead the migration of existing SQL Server ETL processes and data cubes to Azure Cloud. • Architect, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Snowflake. • Ensure strong data governance, data quality, and performance optimization across all solutions. • Support advanced analytics and BI initiatives by providing clean, reliable, well-modeled data. • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects. • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define requirements and recommend best-practice solutions. • Troubleshoot and enhance existing data environments to improve reliability and performance. • Implement cloud data engineering best practices and serve as a subject matter expert. Ideal Candidate Background • Workforce planning experience is a plus, but not required. • Strong background in enterprise cloud data engineering environments. Required Skills (with expected experience) A full job description will be supplied, but key technical requirements include: • Snowflake expertise - 5+ years • Azure Data Lake expertise - 5+ years • Databricks - 3+ years • Strong experience migrating data/ETL from SQL Server to cloud environments • Proven ability to lead technical direction and architectural decisions Preferred Skills • Deep, hands-on expertise in Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, and Databricks (stronger depth will set candidates apart) • Demonstrated ability to guide strategy and identify optimal technical approaches Interview Process • Format: Video • Rounds: 1 • Technical Depth: Sufficiently technical to validate the candidate's ability to provide leadership and set architectural direction.
