Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Burbank, CA / Orlando, FL / Bristol, CT / Seattle, WA- HYBRID (NEED LOCAL CANDIDATE)
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a short-term project focused on data mapping, transformation, and standardization across multiple data sources. This role involves working closely with complex datasets, especially JSON-based structures, to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and readiness for downstream systems.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyze and define data mappings between source systems and target schemas
β’ Transform complex data into standardized, usable formats
β’ Work extensively with JSON (parsing, validation, and transformations including nested structures)
β’ Perform data normalization, validation checks, and transformation logic
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data rules and mapping requirements
β’ Identify and resolve data quality issues through root cause analysis
β’ Maintain documentation such as data dictionaries and mapping specifications
β’ Support testing efforts to validate data accuracy and completeness
Required Skills
β’ 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or similar role
β’ Strong hands-on experience with data mapping across multiple systems
β’ Solid experience working with JSON and semi-structured data
β’ Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
β’ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
Preferred Skills
β’ Experience with data migration or data standardization projects
β’ Familiarity with mapping documentation and data dictionaries
β’ Exposure to HR, CRM, or ATS datasets is a plus
β’ Prior contract/project-based experience preferred
Additional Notes
β’ This is a hands-on data engineering role (not focused on reporting or analytics)
β’ Opportunity to work on large-scale, multi-source data environments
