About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join us on a temporary to permanent basis to provide maternity leave cover within our Data & Insights function.
This is a hands-on senior role, responsible for ensuring the integrity, accessibility and strategic use of data across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Services & Delivery and cross-functional stakeholders to maintain and enhance our data infrastructure, reporting standards and advanced analytics capability.
While this role is initially maternity cover, there is a clear potential pathway to permanency depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Data Infrastructure & Engineering
• Own and enhance data pipelines, storage structures and transformation processes
• Lead improvements to ELT processes and data modelling architecture
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure scalable, efficient data acquisition and integration
• Maintain high standards of data integrity, governance and documentation
Reporting & Insight Delivery
• Establish and maintain robust reporting standards and processes
• Deliver accurate, timely and actionable insights to operational teams and senior leadership
• Continuously optimise reporting frameworks to improve clarity and impact
Advanced Analytics
• Support and develop advanced analytics initiatives including segmentation, lifetime value modelling and predictive analysis
• Identify opportunities for growth through data interrogation and experimentation
• Enable evidence-based decision making across commercial, marketing and operational functions
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Act as a senior point of contact for data queries and technical input
• Translate complex data outputs into clear, actionable insight
• Support and upskill analysts where appropriate
• Promote a data-driven culture across the organisation
Skills & Experience
Essential
• Strong experience with MSSQL
• Advanced Power BI and DAX capability
• Experience managing ELT processes and working with ETL tools
• Experience integrating APIs and automated data acquisition tools
• Strong understanding of data modelling and warehousing principles
• Demonstrable experience operating at a senior level within a data engineering or analytics function
Desirable
• Experience in performance marketing, digital, or regulated industries
• Experience supporting commercial decision making through analytics
• Line management or mentoring experience
