About the Role
Weβre looking for a highly proactive Senior Data Engineer to join our small, cross-functional team on a contract basis to cover a parental leave. This role is ideal for someone with solid enterprise experience who thrives in fast-paced environments, can work independently, and is comfortable taking ownership of data projects from end to end.
You'll be stepping into a running project and helping finalize data ingestion and transformation work, while also contributing to the design and execution of a new data initiative. We value creative problem-solvers who take initiative, think critically, and automate wherever possible to streamline workflows.
What Youβll Do
β’ Build and maintain robust data pipelines and workflows using Python and SQL.
β’ Manage orchestration with Airflow, ensuring pipelines run reliably and efficiently.
β’ Work within an AWS environment to ingest and process large-scale datasets.
β’ Leverage Snowflake as our primary data warehouse for modeling and storage.
β’ Collaborate with Technical Product Managers to support Power BI dashboards and reporting needs (15% of the role).
β’ Support existing infrastructure while identifying opportunities to automate and optimize manual data processes.
β’ Use or integrate with tools like Databricks and Azure Data Factory where appropriate.
β’ Contribute to testing efforts and CI/CD practices, though you wonβt be directly responsible for pipeline deployment.
What Weβre Looking For
β’ 3β4+ years of experience in a Senior Data Engineering role
β’ Demonstrated success in enterprise-level environments
β’ Strong experience across the full data lifecycle: ingestion, transformation, and visualization
β’ Ability to work independently and proactivelyβyou're someone who finds the data rather than waiting to be pointed to it
β’ Comfortable working in lean teams and cross-functional settings
β’ Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have:
β’ Familiarity with Java or C#
β’ Experience with Databricks or Azure Data Factory
β’ Understanding of CI/CD workflows and automated testing practices
Why Join Us?
This is a high-impact opportunity to step into a hands-on role, help push a major data platform over the finish line, and contribute to shaping the next phase of our data strategy. If youβre passionate about building data systems that scale, automate, and deliver real value, weβd love to hear from you.
