Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in need of a Senior Data Engineer in Boston, MA. Responsibilities:
β’ Design and develop cloud-based data management systems
β’ Build and implement data pipelines in decentralized architectures like Data Mesh
β’ Ensure data security standards are followed in cloud solution design
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable and high-performing cloud data solutions
β’ Evaluate and recommend cloud products for efficient data curation, storage, and processing
β’ Monitor cloud data performance and implement optimization strategies
β’ Ensure compliance with data governance policies and best practices
β’ Implement data management and governance processes for cloud environments
β’ Analyze and document cloud data engineering strategies and designs
β’ Establish system performance assessments and action plans
β’ Integrate data using Informatica (IICS), Snowflake, SQL, and Python for complex use cases
β’ Guide design and development of data layers, including ETL requirements
β’ Lead team design sessions and facilitate technical decisions
β’ Ensure timely delivery of solutions that meet requirements and expectations
Requirements
β’ 5+ years of experience in cloud data architecture, data warehousing, data modeling, ETL, enterprise systems, and system engineering
β’ 5+ years of experience with cloud database platforms such as Snowflake
β’ 3-5 years of experience developing cloud-based data solutions on AWS
β’ 3-5 years of experience with Informatica (IICS), Snowflake, and Airflow for orchestration
β’ Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with decentralized data architectures like Data Mesh
β’ Skilled in building and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines
β’ Strong communicator, able to explain and propose solutions to technical teams, vendors, and business users
β’ Proficient in Unix/Linux and shell scripting
β’ Experience working with large, multi-terabyte enterprise data platforms in the cloud
β’ Solid understanding of system and database administration, storage architecture, backup/recovery, and networking
β’ Familiar with handling sensitive healthcare data and applying HIPAA and data privacy controls
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
