Job Title: Senior Data Modeler (Hybrid)

Summary:Seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design and implement advanced data modeling solutions (relational, dimensional, snowflake, star, data lake) for Judiciary systems using conceptual, logical, and physical data models. The role involves working with various databases (AWS Redshift, S3, DynamoDB, DB2, Postgres) and collaborating with business and IT teams.
Responsibilities:
Translate business needs into data models supporting long-term systems.
Work closely with Application Development teams to implement data strategies, build data flows, and develop conceptual models.
Create and optimize logical and physical data models using best practices.
Support Data Initiative projects through multiple implementation phases.
Develop and enforce standard naming conventions and coding practices for consistency.
Identify opportunities for data model reuse in new environments.
Reverse engineer physical models from existing databases and SQL scripts.
Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances across source systems.
Analyze integration challenges and propose/implement solutions per Judiciary Standards.
Collaborate with IT teams (System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers, BI, etc.) on project requirements, limitations, and interfaces.
Review software modifications for efficiency and performance improvements.
Qualifications:
8+ years overall data modeling experience (including DB2, AWS Redshift, DynamoDB, Postgres, SQL Server, Pega Application).
4 years of college degree or equivalent technical study.
Minimum 4 years overall experience and 3 years in Big Data technologies.
6+ years experience with data modeling software.
3+ years AWS and other cloud systems experience.
Recent experience with Snowflakeβs Cloud Data Warehouse is preferred.
Proficient in relational, dimensional, unstructured, and master data modeling.
Advanced knowledge of developing data lake models and traditional techniques (e.g., snowflake/star).
Expertise using modern modeling techniques for data warehousing and analytics.
Skilled in building logical and translating logical models into physical database structures.
Ability to compare actual project procedures with specified standards and procedures.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal/external teams and vendors.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Skills:
Data modeling for multiple databases (DB2, AWS Redshift, DynamoDB, Postgres, SQL Server, Pega Application).
Data modeling software proficiency.
Cloud systems expertise (AWS, others).
Strong SQL and data profiling experience in relational databases.
Source database/data profiling and referential integrity analysis.
Database tuning techniques (preferred).
Experience building data lakes for structured and unstructured data.
