Role description
Title: Senior Data Modeler
Work location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid) -
Preference: Local to SC or Nearby States Candidates only
Contract
Mandatory Skills:
β’ 10 years of experience in Data Modeling
β’ Experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin or ER/Studio
β’ Strong SQL experience
β’ Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL)
β’ Knowledge of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts
β’ Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWS (S3, Redshift), Snowflake, or Databricks
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
β’ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
β’ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
β’ Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Responsibilities:
β’ Define and develop data modeling practices, standards, and guidelines
β’ Create and manage conceptual, logical, and physical data models and metadata by working with stakeholders and others
β’ Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business units to capture data needs and translate them into model specifications
β’ Collaborate with the development teams to ensure the database design meets application requirements
β’ Conduct data analysis, and quality assurance to ensure data integrity and consistency
β’ Implement database schema changes and modifications
β’ Document data models, metadata, data flows, and data dictionaries
β’ Provide technical support and guidance to users
β’ Participate in model reviews
β’ Train developers and others in modeling
