Senior Data Modelers Location: Philadelphia (Onsite 3 days/week) Type: Contract-to-Hire (~1 year conversion) Industry: Healthcare / Health Insurance About The Role We are seeking two Senior Data Modelers to join our enterprise data organization. This team builds and optimizes the data foundation that powers analytics, reporting, and strategic initiatives across the business. With upcoming modernization efforts and team expansion, we're looking for strong independent contributors who can own end-to-end data modeling, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure long-term data sustainability. Key Responsibilities • Gather and interpret requirements: Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate needs into data solutions. • Design data models: Create conceptual, logical, and physical models for new and existing systems. • Develop scalable structures: Ensure models are efficient, sustainable, and aligned with enterprise standards. • Integrate datasets: Support enhancements and net-new integrations into the enterprise data warehouse. • Build dimensional & relational models: Star schemas, ragged hierarchies, and normalized structures. • Perform advanced SQL analysis: Profile data, troubleshoot issues, and validate modeling decisions. • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with BSAs, engineers, developers, and business users. • Support mappings: Assist with source-to-target mappings and guide analysts. • Contribute to modernization: Participate in re-engineering and replatforming efforts (BigQuery + SQL systems). • Lead and mentor: Provide leadership within the team and grow into a Lead role. Required Skills & Experience • 7+ years in data modeling with proven expertise. • 5+ years advanced SQL: Complex queries, analysis, troubleshooting. • Strong knowledge of: • Data warehousing concepts • Normalization • Dimensional modeling • Star schema & hierarchical modeling • Experience in large-scale reporting/analytics environments. • Ability to work independently and drive clarity from ambiguous requirements. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
