Role description
Senior Data Scientist Contract Type: Contract to Hire Location: Hybrid (3 days/week onsite in Newark, NJ) W2 only. No C2C. Pay rate: up to $65hr on W2. What You’ll Do: β€’ Develop advanced data science solutions as defined by the Director, Data Science β€’ Perform hands-on data analysis, model development, training, testing, and deployment β€’ Research and apply new methods, algorithms, and modeling techniques β€’ Write production-ready code and work with ML engineers to deploy models β€’ Collaborate with data engineers to build robust data pipelines and integrate solutions with business platforms β€’ Support model development for customer engagement and wellness initiatives β€’ Manage external vendors involved in the data science development process What You’ll Bring: β€’ Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline: Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics, Actuarial Science, or related fields β€’ Experience solving complex problems and applying judgment in dynamic environments β€’ Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into actionable insights β€’ Familiarity with designing experiments (e.g., A/B testing), working with claims or customer experience data β€’ A background in behavioral science (preferred but not required) β€’ Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills β€’ Self-driven, with a strong focus on continuous learning Technical Skills: Applied Experience With: β€’ Data Acquisition & Transformation: β€’ Working with APIs, SQL, NoSQL β€’ Data visualization using Python, R, etc. β€’ Database Management: β€’ Relational (SQL) and unstructured (NoSQL) databases β€’ Graph databases (Cypher/GraphDB) β€’ Model Deployment: β€’ MDLC, CI/CD/CT pipelines (Jenkins, CloudBees, Harness, etc.) β€’ ML pipeline frameworks (MLFlow, AWS SageMaker) β€’ Statistics & Computing: β€’ Deep knowledge of statistics, probability, linear algebra, time series analysis, and experimentation β€’ Data Wrangling & Preparation: β€’ Processing large structured and unstructured datasets β€’ Machine Learning & NLP: β€’ Strong understanding of ML algorithms, theory, and real-world application β€’ Experience in natural language processing β€’ Programming Languages: β€’ Python, R, SQL, Java or Scala, Cypher Why You’ll Love Working Here: You’ll join a culture where your voice is heard, your work has purpose, and your career can thrive.
