Role description
Location: Quincy, MA (3 days per week on-site) Duration: 6+ Months Job Summary As a Senior Data Scientist, you will serve as a core technical leader designing and scaling advanced machine learning and AI solutions to drive personalization, recommendations, and intelligent automation. You will collaborate closely with Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Science Leads to turn complex data into significant business impact, developing robust models, optimizing pipelines, and delivering measurable results that improve customer engagement and operational efficiency. Required: • Programming: Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and Databricks for large-scale data processing and machine learning. • ML Frameworks: Strong hands-on experience with scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and Hugging Face libraries. • Domain Expertise: Proven track record in building and deploying recommendation systems, semantic search, or customer personalization models. • Data Science Fundamentals: Proven background in feature engineering, Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), model evaluation, and MLOps workflows. • Experimentation: Demonstrated experience in A/B testing frameworks and model observability practices. • Collaboration: Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: • Design, build, and deploy advanced recommendation, personalization, and predictive models that drive personalized digital experiences across all company banners. • Develop scalable ML pipelines, from data preparation and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and production inference, ensuring high-quality, reproducible results. • Explore and implement Generative AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approaches to advance product matching, search functionality, and personalized experiences. • Partner with MLEs to productionize models, ensuring scalable, highly monitored, and retrainable ML systems. • Partner with Data Engineers to design efficient data flows and maintain clean, versioned datasets for model consumption. • Work with Data Science Leads and stakeholders to define KPIs, design A/B experiments, and translate analytical insights into actionable business strategies. • Contribute to shared best practices, documentation, code reviews, and continuous improvement of team capabilities. 26-00433
