Role description
Role - Senior Data Scientist Location: Detroit, MI Contract Description : Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead a strategic AI Discovery engagement focused on evaluating the technical feasibility, data readiness, and implementation approach for automating automotive parts image analysis using computer vision technologies. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of intelligent image-based classification and description systems for automotive parts across categories such as Collision, OEPR, and Mechanical. Required Skills/qualification: Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field. 8+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on computer vision and deep learning. Proven experience in AI usecase discovery/due diligence, feasibility studies, technical assessments, and solution architecture. Strong understanding of image processing, CV models, CNNs, transformers, and multi-modal learning. Experience working with large-scale image datasets and annotation tools. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience or familiarity with automotive domain data and parts classification. Hands-on experience with AWS (S3, SageMaker, Lambda, etc.) and Databricks. Knowledge of MLOps practices and scalable deployment strategies(databricks ML Flow).
