Role description
Senior Data Scientist (AI/ML) Location: 100% Remote (Must reside in approved states) Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Local Time) Type: Contract, 5-6 months with possible extension Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning and AI solutions that drive business impact across healthcare-focused domains. This role will focus heavily on building predictive models, implementing agentic AI workflows, and leveraging modern techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to enhance model performance and decision-making capabilities. Key Responsibilities • Analyze complex datasets to extract actionable insights and support strategic decision-making • Design, develop, and train machine learning models (supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, reinforcement learning) • Build and implement agentic AI workflows for autonomous task execution • Apply RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) techniques to improve AI model outputs • Fine-tune pre-trained models for domain-specific performance optimization • Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and validation to ensure data quality • Deploy and monitor AI/ML models in production environments • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, analytics) to integrate AI solutions • Support business initiatives such as improving star ratings, reducing care gaps, and enhancing operational efficiency • Present complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Mentor junior data scientists and support project delivery • Stay current on AI/ML advancements and apply emerging techniques Required Qualifications • 6+ years of experience as a Data Scientist (healthcare experience preferred) • Strong programming skills in Python and/or R • Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch) • Solid understanding of statistical modeling and ML algorithms (k-NN, SVM, Naive Bayes, neural networks) • Experience with Agentic AI workflows and autonomous systems • Hands-on experience with RAG techniques • Experience fine-tuning machine learning models • Strong data handling skills (SQL, NoSQL, ETL, data warehousing) • Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) • Familiarity with SDLC and data engineering concepts • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills • Ability to work with unstructured data and complex problem spaces • PhD OR equivalent advanced experience Preferred Qualifications • Experience with cloud platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure AI Studio) • Background in NLP and/or computer vision • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
