Hiring: Data Scientist III / Technical Project Lead – National Grid | Hybrid (NY/MA)
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist III / Data Science Technical Project Lead for a new project with National Grid. This role requires strong leadership in managing multiple AI/ML projects while remaining hands-on with Python and data science tools.
Location: Brooklyn, NY or Waltham, MA
Work Model: Hybrid (1 day onsite, 4 days remote)
Duration: 6 Months

Role Responsibilities
• Lead and deliver 2–3 data science projects simultaneously
• Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders
• Drive solutions using AI, ML, GenAI, and statistical methods
• Provide hands-on technical contributions in Python when required
• Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants
• Deliver insights that are actionable and aligned with business goals
Required Skills
• Strong project management and stakeholder management
• Data Science, AI/ML, GenAI
• Python programming
• Statistical and probabilistic analysis
• Data visualization and presentation skills
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the energy or utility sector
• Participation in Kaggle or similar data science competitions
• GitHub or StackOverflow activity
• PowerBI or ArcGIS experience
• Knowledge of Agile frameworks
