Title: Senior Data Scientist Location: Remote Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Reston, VA, to consider working onsite roughly six times per year for PI Planning purposes Terms of Employment: • W2 Contract, 12 Months (Likely Extension) • This position is primarily remote. Candidates must reside a commutable distance to Reston, VA to consider working onsite roughly six times per year for PI Planning purposes. This includes individuals up and down the East Coast. Travel would be at the expense of the individual. Overview & Responsibilities: Work with a leading healthcare solutions provider to revolutionize claim systems and workflows using advanced AI. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who bridges the gap between high-level research and production-grade engineering. You will join a mature data science team to build, optimize, and deploy Generative AI models and "Agentic" solutions that make healthcare smarter and more efficient. You will… • Develop and enhance AI/Machine Learning models and products, specifically focusing on LLMs and Generative AI workflows. • Design and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures, including linking LLMs with vector databases. • Optimize code for production readiness, ensuring solutions are robust and "flushed out" rather than just POC-scale. • Configure and manage AWS resources, including Bedrock, Kendra, and Lambda, to support model deployment. • Manage technical nuances of LLM implementation, such as tokenization management and vector creation. • Collaborate with architects to implement overall solution designs within the healthcare claims environment. Required Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Data Scientist building and building AI/ML models in a production environment. • Strong proficiency in Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). • Hands-on experience with RAG architectures. • Strong Engineering Skills: Ability to optimize your own code for production without relying on a separate engineering team. • Technical expertise in the AWS ecosystem (specifically AWS Bedrock, Lambda, and Kendra). • Experience with Python and managing vector databases. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with "Agent AI" or building autonomous AI agents. • Background in the healthcare industry, specifically claims processing or FEP programs. • Experience building products for large-scale associations or plan environments.
