Role description
This is a contract/contract to hire position. Remote. Pay rate on contract ranges anywhere between $60-80/hr (without health benefits. But can provide dental/vision benefits) Process: 2-3 rounds of interviews. It starts with a live technical screening with SQL/Python coderpad review. All candidate MUST be strong with SQL/Python. Position Summary We’re seeking a Data Scientist (can be mid level or Senior, multiple roles) with strong expertise in SQL and Python to join our growing analytics team. This role will be pivotal in designing and building data solutions that influence critical business and clinical decisions across the organization. Responsibilities β€’ Design, develop, and deploy data models and algorithms to analyze complex healthcare and pharmaceutical datasets. β€’ Write advanced SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets from relational databases (PostgreSQL, Snowflake, etc.). β€’ Use Python for data wrangling, statistical modeling, machine learning, and automation of analytical processes. β€’ Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, product managers, clinical experts, and business stakeholders to define problem statements and deliver actionable insights. β€’ Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. β€’ Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to support areas such as patient stratification, drug efficacy analysis, real-world evidence, and commercial operations. β€’ Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.). Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field. β€’ 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role in a healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical setting. β€’ Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis, modeling, and automation. β€’ Strong understanding of data structures, statistical methods, and machine learning algorithms. β€’ Experience working with clinical, claims, EMR, or real-world healthcare data is highly preferred. β€’ Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data tools (dbt, Airflow, Jupyter Notebooks). β€’ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience with tools such as Pandas, NumPy, SciKit-Learn, XGBoost, or similar ML libraries.
