Role description
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Impact Staffing International (ISI) is looking for a skilled Senior Data Scientist with 5+ years of experience in data science and machine learning, based in Irving, Texas. This position will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive strategic decision-making, innovation, and operational excellence. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges, design data science use cases, and develop solutions. The Senior Data Scientist will work with data engineers to ensure data quality and availability while creating data pipelines and workflows. Key responsibilities include designing and deploying machine learning models for predictive and descriptive analytics, conducting experiments to test improvements, and utilizing advanced statistical techniques to extract actionable insights. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise with Python, Dataiku, R, and modeling techniques, as well as familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, and Generative AI, including language models. They will act as a thought leader in AI methodologies and industry trends, offering strategic suggestions to advance organizational goals by considering diverse use case scenarios. This individual must effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, foster collaboration and best practices within the team, and contribute to the organizationβs long-term data strategy. Additionally, the Senior Data Scientist will ensure the scalability, reliability, and documentation of machine learning models deployed in production, promoting innovation in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This position is a hybrid contract-to-hire role, going in the office 4 days each week.
Required Skills And Background
β’ Proven experience in data science and machine learning. 5+ years of experienced candidates preferred.
β’ A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline. Master's Degree in a Quantitative Field Preferred.
β’ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and experience with data manipulation libraries and frameworks.
β’ Experience with machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, decision trees, cluster analysis) using Python or other statistical programming packages such as R, SAS, Matlab.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
β’ Strong understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and probability.
β’ Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
β’ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
β’ Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments.
β’ Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Understanding of data privacy, ethics, and compliance issues, particularly when handling sensitive data.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Data science or analytical study certifications.
β’ Familiarity with snowflake architecture.
β’ Experience with Dataiku AI Platform.
