Role description
Strictly on W2 Only - No C2C Job Title: Data Warehouse Architect 3 Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite) Rate: $81.48/hr on W2 Duration: 12+ Month Contract: W2 Only A State client is seeking a senior Data Warehouse Architect to support and administer its Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment built on Teradata. This role will be responsible for platform administration, performance optimization, backup and recovery, security, upgrades, vendor coordination, and long-term data warehouse strategy supporting over 10,000 users and 40TB of enterprise data. Must-Have Qualifications • 8+ years of hands-on experience administering and supporting Teradata database environments in large enterprise or government organizations. • Strong experience performing Teradata upgrades, provisioning, patching, software maintenance, and platform lifecycle management. • Extensive experience with Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU), Viewpoint Administration, PSIM, and node management. • Proven expertise in Teradata backup & recovery, workload management, performance tuning, and resource optimization. • Strong experience supporting ETL processes and enterprise data warehousing environments. • Hands-on scripting experience using Bash, Python, Perl, Glink, or similar automation technologies. • Strong Unix/Linux administration knowledge supporting enterprise database platforms. • Experience with cloud technologies, networking, resource allocation, and preferably Microsoft Azure environments. • Experience supporting audit, security, compliance, and regulatory requirements including NIST 800-53, IRS 1075, SSA, or Medicaid standards. • AWS Certification such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Data Engineer, or AWS Machine Learning Specialty is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities • Administer and support Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) platforms across Production, Development/DR, and Test environments. • Perform Teradata upgrades, patch management, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, and platform maintenance. • Monitor system health, performance, resource utilization, and workload optimization. • Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and security compliance activities. • Provide technical leadership and support to enterprise DBAs and agency technical teams. • Support long-term data warehouse architecture planning and cloud modernization initiatives.
