Database Administrator
6-Month Contract | Remote (Minimal Travel) | US Citizens Only
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team on a 6-month contract. This role is remote with minimal travel requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Administer databases including installations, migrations, deployments, patching, and upgrades.
• Optimize database performance, resource usage, and security.
• Support developers with database modeling, indexing, and SQL coding best practices.
• Manage backups, recovery, and system health checks.
• Participate in on-call support and troubleshooting efforts.
• Develop and maintain policies, standards, and documentation.
• Research and recommend improvements for database processes and tools.
Qualifications:
• 5–7 years of database administration experience (SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, etc.).
• 3–5 years of experience with cloud hosting (Azure, AWS, or Google).
• Strong skills in monitoring, backup/recovery, and system optimization.
• Proficiency with Windows and/or Unix operating systems.
• US Citizenship required.
Preferred:
• Experience with multiple DBMS platforms, including cloud-based PaaS systems.
