Senior Database Developer
Location: Remote (Eastern Time Hours)

Reports To: Director, Data Services
Responsibilities:
β’ Develop, design, monitor, and support SQL Server and SQL Azure Databases
β’ Recommend and develop data strategies to address industry requirements and business needs
β’ Database design - ensuring stability, reliability and performance on platforms that span multiple applications and environments
β’ Leverage modern software development and DevSecOps tools and processes to automate repetitive tasks
β’ Provide support for database activities in Azure and AWS
β’ Participate in developing meaningful cloud metrics and reporting
β’ Participate in database platform recommendations including backups, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover and high availability
β’ Analyze expensive provisioning, queries, deadlocks and/or bottlenecks and remediate accordingly
β’ Approve DB pull requests and make recommendations for performance and standards
Requirements:
β’ 5+ years of professional experience
β’ Strong experience with modern SQL Server and Azure SQL Databases
β’ Experience creating new databases from the ground up
β’ Experience running Perfmon/SQL tools to analyze/troubleshoot SQL performance and capacity
β’ Experience writing and troubleshooting store procedures and triggers
β’ Knowledge of Azure DevOps and GIT development
β’ Ability to develop technical specifications and interpret business requirements
β’ Ability to automate processes and manage priorities effectively to achieve optimal results
β’ Strong understanding of IIS, Active Directory, and DNS
β’ Capable of designing and tuning databases for custom applications
β’ Experience with C#, .NET development is preferred
β’ MCITP or MCPD certifications are preferred
