Role description
Job Title: Senior Database Developer ( Austin, TX)
Local Candidate Required
β’ Lead migration of legacy Microsoft Access databases into modern, high-performance SQL platforms.
β’ Analyze and document existing Microsoft Access data structures.
β’ Design and implement relational database models, schema transformations, and scalable SQL schemas.
β’ Develop ETL pipelines and perform data validation checks for accurate migration.
β’ Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and schema normalization.
β’ Provide technical leadership on migration strategies and cutover planning.
β’ Prepare technical documentation such as data dictionaries, runbooks, and training materials.
β’ Support stakeholders with troubleshooting, issue resolution, and post-migration support.
β’ Ensure compliance with data governance, accessibility standards, and security best practices.
β’ Collaborate with business users and technical stakeholders to address requirements and ensure a seamless transition.
β’ Guide and train end-users throughout the migration and adoption process.
β’ Preferred: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, data visualization/reporting tools, Agile methodologies, and Texas HHS or state agencies.
