Our Technology support to many DoD Agencies, NASA, Voice of America, FDA, and State Agencies such as State of FL, RI, MS, ND, VA, and WV extends our delivery of solutions worldwide Job Title: Senior Database Developer/Database Administrator 3 Location: Austin, Texas(Hybrid) Duration: 12+ months DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES the services of 1 Database Administrator 3, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Database Administrator 3, Data/Database Administration We are seeking a Senior Database Developer with 10+ years of experience in Microsoft Access and cloud-native SQL to lead the migration of legacy Access databases into modern, high-performance SQL platforms. This role will work closely with program users to analyze existing data structures, design and execute schema transformations, ETL pipelines, validation checks, and cut-over plans, and guide stakeholders through a seamless data transition. Required Skills • Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining advanced MS Access databases (tables, normalized structures, queries, forms, reports) – 10+ years • Expert-level relational database design, normalization, ER modeling, schema refactoring, and translating Access data models to scalable SQL schemas – 10+ years • Microsoft Access experience including table design, complex queries, forms, reports, and VBA for custom functionalities and workflow automation – 10+ years • Migrating legacy databases into cloud SQL platforms (Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS for SQL Server/MySQL) – 10+ years • ETL tool experience (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, AWS DMS) – 8+ years • Creating migration runbooks, data dictionaries, technical documentation, and delivering training/knowledge-transfer – 8+ years • Experience with RDBMS admin/console tools (TOAD, SSMS, SQL Developer) – 8+ years • Configuring data integration and batch processing solutions in Azure Data Factory/SSIS; monitoring data ingestion and query performance – 8+ years • Migrating data from legacy database to new target database – 8+ years Preferred Skills • Hands-on experience with CI/CD methodology, GitHub, JIRA – 6+ years • Experience with data visualization/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) – 6+ years • Experience with Agile development methodologies – 6+ years • Prior experience in healthcare or public health – 3+ years • Experience implementing agile methodologies and best practices for one or more State of Texas Agencies – 3+ years
