Senior Database Engineer (DevOps | Cloud & Automation) 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Madison, WI (Hybrid) Salary Range: $98,000 - $154,000 About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Database Engineer to help drive our cloud-first database strategy. This contract-to-hire role is focused on automation, optimization, and performance at scale, with Snowflake and Azure at the core. If you’re passionate about building efficient, scalable systems and thrive in a collaborative environment, this is your chance to make a real impact. Key Responsibilities • Design, automate, and optimize Snowflake and Azure database solutions. • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible) and integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines. • Automate provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and backups to reduce manual work. • Support Cosmos DB and Oracle OCI where needed. • Enforce database security, compliance, and performance best practices. What We’re Looking For • Strong expertise in Snowflake (performance tuning, cost/workload optimization). • Direct experience with Azure cloud services (Snowflake on Azure, Cosmos DB). • Proficiency in automation/scripting (Python, Ansible, PowerShell). • Knowledge of DevOps practices (IaC, CI/CD, monitoring). • Problem-solver with an automation-first mindset. Bonus: Experience with Oracle/SQL Server/Postgres, high availability, disaster recovery, and Oracle OCI.
