Title: Senior Database Engineer Location: Houston, TX – 60% Onsite (Hybrid) Contract Length: 6 months, potential for FTE conversion Hours: 40/week Local Required: Yes (Houston-based) Interview Process: 1–2 rounds (virtual) Equipment: Client provided onsite Top 3 Required Skills 1. Oracle Exadata Administration (8+ yrs) – βœ”οΈ Performance tuning, troubleshooting, and backup/recovery in large-scale environments. 1. IBM DB2 z/OS Administration (8+ yrs) – βœ”οΈ Strong background in mainframe DB2 engineering and optimization. 1. Snowflake Database Engineering (8+ yrs) – βœ”οΈ Experience supporting cloud data warehouses with AWS integration. Ideal Candidate Profile: β€’ Senior Database Engineer with 8+ years of experience across Oracle Exadata, IBM DB2 z/OS, and Snowflake. β€’ Demonstrated strength in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting for enterprise-scale systems. β€’ Hands-on with Windows, Linux, and UNIX platforms for database deployment and management. β€’ Strong knowledge of security, backup/recovery strategies, and database monitoring. β€’ Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure teams. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required. Nice-to-Have Skills: β€’ AWS or other cloud database infrastructure experience. β€’ Scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation. β€’ Exadata and Snowflake certification. β€’ Team Information β€’ Aligned to Infrastructure Managed Services / Technology Services business unit. β€’ Supports enterprise-level database engineering and performance operations. β€’ Reports to local Houston Accenture technical lead.
