Senior Database Engineer to support our teams in Richardson TX, Dulles VA, State College PA, or Aurora CO.
Responsibilities:
β’ Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions.
β’ Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
β’ Successfully integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions.
β’ Use proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
β’ Obtain/Maintain Polygraphs.
β’ Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of Database Engineering experience.
β’ Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) and Database Engineer (DBE).
β’ Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle, Postgres, or related systems.
β’ Experience working with Systems and Software Engineers to implement, and modify backend databases to interact with applications within a development environment.
β’ Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases.
β’ Experience using Linux command line to perform database administration activities.
β’ Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date or an active TS that can be crossed over to a TS/SCI prior to start date.
Desired Skills:
β’ Existing Security+ Certification
β’ Experience with AWS.
β’ Experience with NoSQL database products such as MongoDB and DynamoDB.
β’ Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues.
β’ Experience troubleshooting performance issues
β’ Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements.
β’ Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java) is helpful!
