Senior Database Engineer to support our teams in Richardson TX, Dulles VA, State College PA, or Aurora CO. Responsibilities: • Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions. • Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well. • Successfully integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions. • Use proven problem-solving and analytical skills. • Obtain/Maintain Polygraphs. • Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of Database Engineering experience. • Experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) and Database Engineer (DBE). • Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle, Postgres, or related systems. • Experience working with Systems and Software Engineers to implement, and modify backend databases to interact with applications within a development environment. • Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases. • Experience using Linux command line to perform database administration activities. • Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date or an active TS that can be crossed over to a TS/SCI prior to start date. Desired Skills: • Existing Security+ Certification • Experience with AWS. • Experience with NoSQL database products such as MongoDB and DynamoDB. • Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues. • Experience troubleshooting performance issues • Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements. • Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java) is helpful!
