We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer for a contract position based in Taunton, requiring three days per week onsite. An active SC Clearance is essential for this role.
In this position, you will adhere to Azure Well-Architected principles, focusing on reliability, performance efficiency, and security within a predominantly on-premises and hybrid environment.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proven experience in analyzing and optimizing large enterprise databases.
- Experience in designing and implementing data retention and archival strategies.
- Experience supporting large .NET Framework-based applications.
- Strong understanding of database reliability patterns (HA, failover, backup/restore validation).
- Experience deploying schema changes safely via controlled CI/CD or release processes.
