Role description
Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer in Irving, TX. Key Tasks: β€’ Design, develop, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform β€’ Work on full lifecycle of cloud development, DevOps, engineering, and support, driving architecture, implementation, documentation, and operational excellence β€’ Establish and implement cloud architecture best practices to optimize performance, cost, and security - primarily in AWS, while enabling integrations with Azure and Google Cloud Platform β€’ Conduct regular audits and assessments of cloud environments to identify improvements and ensure compliance with industry standards β€’ Mentor and provide technical guidance to developers and cloud engineers, emphasizing secure networking and application/cloud security best practices β€’ Foster an automation-first culture, leading initiatives to automate provisioning, deployment, configuration management, and monitoring β€’ Evaluate and adopt new cloud technologies and tools in driving innovation and maintain awareness of industry trends β€’ Lead incident response and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure issues, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment β€’ Communicate effectively with stakeholders to capture requirements, provide updates, and deliver clear technical solutions β€’ Ensure robust implementation, monitoring, and logging via tools such as New Relic, Logz, Loki, ELK stack, Prometheus, and Grafana, etc. β€’ Apply technical breadth across software engineering, system integration, cloud platform expertise, enterprise and event-driven architecture β€’ Practice SAFe Agile methodologies throughout design, development, testing, deployment, and support phases Requirements β€’ Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field β€’ 6+ years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure design and management, ideally in high-volume environments β€’ Demonstrated experience collaborating with application development, data engineering, infrastructure, and IT support teams to drive secure and efficient cloud integrations β€’ Advanced expertise in AWS cloud platform; Hands-on experience with Azure and Google Cloud Platform is a plus β€’ Proven track record designing and operating scalable systems that support large transaction volumes β€’ Strong foundation in secure software development, application security, and a 'code first' mindset β€’ Solid working knowledge of CI/CD processes, tool integration, and debugging/testing methodologies β€’ Exceptional self-drive, proactivity, and a results-oriented mindset with the ability to act decisively and deliver under pressure β€’ Up to date with the latest software development tools, cloud technologies, and best practices β€’ Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, thriving in fast-paced, team-based environments β€’ Outstanding communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders β€’ Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality and results in dynamic situations β€’ Advanced skills in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes β€’ Experience in retail platforms or similar industries is highly beneficial The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
