Primary Job Title: Senior Engineer - Data Analytics Alternate/Related Job Titles: • Data Analytics Engineer • Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake / Power BI) • ETL / BI Systems Engineer Location: Chevy Chase, MD Onsite Flexibility: Remote Contract Details: • Position Type: Contract • Contract Duration: 2.5 months (approx.) • Start: As Soon As Possible • Pay Rate: $67-$77/hr Job Summary: The Senior Engineer - Data Analytics will design, develop, and optimize high-performance data analytics solutions to support enterprise-scale insurance operations. This role is part of the Data Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE) and focuses on building robust, scalable, and automated data models and reports using modern technologies like Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Power BI. The ideal candidate brings both deep technical knowledge and a passion for innovation, collaboration, and engineering excellence.Key Responsibilities: • Develop scalable data models and reports leveraging SQL, dbt, and Python to transform multi-terabyte datasets into actionable insights. • Utilize Power BI and Apache Superset for advanced data visualization and reporting across business domains. • Lead design sessions, code reviews, and peer collaborations to promote engineering best practices. • Support ETL / ELT architecture and ensure optimized data pipelines within the analytics ecosystem. • Oversee data deployment pipelines and maintain consistent data availability. • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning. • Share knowledge and best practices across cross-functional analytics and engineering teams. • Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD initiatives using tools within the Azure DevOps framework. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical deliverables. Required Experience & Qualifications: • 4+ years of experience in professional data analytics development using SQL-based technologies. • 3+ years of experience in data architecture and data warehousing (Snowflake preferred). • 3+ years of experience with ETL and/or BI tools (dbt, Power BI, Apache Superset). • Proven expertise in dimensional data modeling, data quality monitoring, and automated testing. • Experience with Python scripting and Airflow orchestration (preferred). • Strong understanding of DevOps concepts and tools within the Azure DevOps ecosystem. • Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in dynamic environments. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
