Role description
Our client is a software and consulting company with long-standing client relationships and an emerging products division. Their primary expertise is in application development, data visualization, Information Technology (IT), and Their clients include large financial firms, utilities and Federal customers.
As part of the Portfolio Engineering Team, you will design and build tools that seamlessly integrate fixed income analytic models, large datasets, and proprietary research. These tools support real-time portfolio decisions and risk monitoring, with an emphasis on intuitive UI/UX and efficient integration across internal and external systems.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and implement full-stack solutions, focusing on both front-end usability and robust middle-tier integrations.
β’ Collaborate with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-impact tools.
β’ Participate in the full software development lifecycle using agile methodologies.
β’ Contribute to the teamβs architectural and technical direction with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and user experience.
Technical Requirements
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
β’ 7+ years of software development experience; proficiency in Python is required.
β’ Additional experience in C#, Java, or C++ is a strong plus.
β’ Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, JavaScript, modern frameworks) and UI design principles.
β’ Experience with agile development processes and associated tools.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
β’ Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical ideas clearly to non-technical audiences.
β’ Prior exposure to financial markets, investment management, or quantitative modeling.
β’ A proactive mindset and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Technology Stack Includes
Python, Oracle, Postgres, Bloomberg SAPI/BPIPE, Excel, REST/JSON APIs, AMPS, GitLab, AWS, and Beacon.
