Software Engineer – Redis Migration SME Fortune 50 Healthcare Brooksource Remote Overview: Join a Fortune 50 Healthcare company driving a large-scale migration from GEMFire to Redis Enterprise. We’re seeking a Redis Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the modernization effort, operationalize Redis across on-prem and cloud environments (Azure & GCP), and ensure the platform is designed for scalability, reliability, and security. This engineer will β€œdrive the ship” for Redis adoption, acting as the technical lead with support from additional engineering resources. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Solution Design & Architecture: β€’ Architect Redis Enterprise solutions, ensuring scalability, high availability, and performance. β€’ Design infrastructure that integrates Redis with enterprise systems and supports hybrid on-prem/cloud workloads. β€’ Migration Leadership: β€’ Lead the GEMFire-to-Redis migration, including data conversion, system integration, and application readiness. β€’ Develop architectural diagrams and reference models to guide engineering and app teams. β€’ Operational Readiness: β€’ Define and implement Redis operational standards, including automation, monitoring, and runbooks. β€’ Ensure Redis is fully production-ready and aligned with enterprise requirements. β€’ Collaboration & Onboarding: β€’ Partner with application development teams to integrate Redis into existing and new applications. β€’ Provide onboarding, guidance, and best practices for teams adopting Redis. β€’ Performance & Security: β€’ Optimize Redis performance through tuning and load balancing strategies. β€’ Implement enterprise security controls including TLS/SSL, firewall rules, and access management. β€’ Future-State Planning: β€’ Stay aligned with broader tech initiatives and upcoming platform upgrades. β€’ Influence the long-term roadmap for in-memory data grid technologies within the enterprise. Required Qualifications: β€’ Redis Expertise: Proven SME-level experience with Redis Enterprise, including solution design, deployment, and optimization. β€’ Engineering Background: 5+ years of software engineering with strong Linux/Unix administration skills and hands-on experience with DNS, LDAP, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and TLS/SSL. β€’ Cloud & Hybrid Experience: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure & GCP) as well as hybrid on-prem environments. β€’ Development Skills: Proficient in Java, .NET, Python, etc. for Redis-related development and integrations. β€’ Automation & Monitoring: Experience with scripting/automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform) and monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Prometheus). β€’ Soft Skills: Strong communicator, able to mentor peers and simplify complex concepts for diverse stakeholders. Nice to Have: β€’ Experience with GEMFire or other in-memory data grid technologies. β€’ Prior involvement in large-scale enterprise migrations or modernization efforts.
