Senior ETL Developer (contract)

Project Overview / Contractor’s Role: The Cash and Corporate division of Northern Trust is looking for Sr. Developer with at least 8 years of experience designing and developing high volume, time sensitive applications for the financial industry. Candidate will be involved in development and support of IBM MDM application using ETL DataStage with oracle database and middle ware/ MQ interface. Person will be responsible for, majorly ETL development of MDM with data quality improvement as well as supporting the application. Experience Level: 3 – Senior Qualifications (must haves): • Hands on experience in IBM Datastage with excellent understanding of MDM data. • Hands on experience in Red Hat Linux with the ability to write Shell scripts. • Excellent understanding of the batch process. Especially knowledge of Control – M and Datastage batch jobs. • Data model understanding of the IBM MDM application is preferred. • 8 Years of hands on experience in oracle with ability to write complex SQL and PL/SQL. • Hands on understanding of the monitoring systems like Dynatrace , APM , Catch point. • Experience to Trouble shoot application hosted in on Prem- Cloud. • A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required. • Clear understanding of the Agile Methodology. • Knowledge of Azure data factory or any other cloud platform is added advantage. • Knowledge of Devops model. • Knowledge of IBM MDM data model is added advantage. Tasks & Responsibilities: • Responsible for ETL development using IBM Datastage with integration across the bank to more than 30 source system hosted in different tech stack. • Work with the source system to understand the data format , data quality and build the ETL jobs with highest level of standards. • Communicates with source and consumer system on time to time basis if there is Data quality issue and work with them to build a fool proof solution. • Actively participate in development ,with the view of production stability and responsible for system stability and high availability. • Evaluates and makes recommendation on techniques, practices, or technologies that would reduce production incidents. Also does work to ensure continuous process improvements. • Actively engage in fixing the root cause of the issue/incident and monitor it, and build end to end solution. • Participate in development as per devOps model and continuously engage in development activity to better understand the release and upcoming features. • Provide suggestion for automation for the manual processes and engage with offshore team on implementing automation. • Excellent written and oral business communication to explain the system incident or development work. • Implementing the features using Agile methodology.
