Role description
Senior Front Office Business Analyst – London
Overview
A leading financial services organisation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Front Office Business Analyst with deep hands-on experience across trading platforms - specifically MarkitWire and ION Trading. This role is central to supporting front-office technology change initiatives, ensuring seamless trade execution, post-trade processing, and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will work directly with traders and quants, supporting day-to-day platform usage, performing testing across ION and MarkitWire, and helping optimise end-to-end workflows. You will also be involved in executing trades within ION, which downstream into Bloomberg TOMS, and subsequently into Murex and other internal systems, so exposure to these integrations is highly desirable.
Role & Responsibilities
• Act as the primary BA supporting front-office users across trading, execution, and post-trade platforms
• Capture, analyse, and document business and technical requirements across front-office workflows
• Perform detailed testing across ION Trading, MarkitWire, and related integration points
• Support traders with platform usage, troubleshooting, workflow queries, and escalation management
• Execute trades in ION and validate correct data flow into Bloomberg TOMS, Murex, and downstream systems
• Analyse and enhance clearing workflows - both via MarkitWire and direct venue connectivity
• Support MiFID and wider regulatory reporting initiatives, ensuring compliance in workflow and data capture
• Manage enhancement requests, prioritisation, and front-office technology roadmap items
• Track delivery progress, communicate updates, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies
• Collaborate with technology, vendor, and business teams to ensure smooth implementation and user adoption
Essential Skills & Experience
• Extensive experience as a Front Office Business Analyst within financial services or investment banking
• Hands-on experience with MarkitWire and ION Trading
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, execution flows, and clearing processes across multiple venues
• Experience with trade execution feeding into Bloomberg TOMS and downstream platforms (Murex desirable)
• Strong knowledge of MiFID and regulatory reporting frameworks
• Proficiency with SQL for data validation, investigation, and analysis
• Practical experience using Confluence and JIRA for documentation, workflow tracking, and Agile delivery
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with front-office teams
• Ability to document processes, perform gap analysis, and translate business needs into detailed functional requirements
• Experience across full project delivery lifecycle, including UAT, testing coordination, and go-live support
Desirable Experience
• Background working on large-scale regulatory, trading, or platform transformation programmes
• Exposure to Bloomberg TOMS configuration or support
• Project Management experience - while not essential, beneficial for coordinating multi-stream deliveries
Contract Offer
• Rate: £750 per day (inside IR35)
• Duration: 6-month initial contract
• Location: Hybrid - 4 days per week onsite in London
