Senior GIS Analyst | Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, or related field required.
• Minimum 5-7 years professional experience in GIS.
• Strong experience with the Esri ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and web GIS architecture.
• Demonstrated experience working in enterprise GIS environments, including data management, workflow configuration, and system design.
• Experience working with utility data, preferably gas distribution systems, including asset modeling and operational workflows.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, validation) and standard business tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply analytical judgment, and solve ambiguous problems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Proven effectiveness in a work environment with cross-functional partners.
• Experience with ArcGIS Networks, including data modeling, configuration, or implementation support.
• Experience with Survey 123, SAP or other enterprise Work Management Systems.
• Background in utilities, engineering, integrity management, or regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex GIS concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading GIS tasks or workstreams, including planning, coordination, and quality assurance.
Senior GIS Analyst | Responsibilities:
Utility Network Program Transformation-
• Lead the design and implementation of a statewide digital redlining framework to support integration into the authoritative gas GIS dataset.
• Translate legacy GIS and paper-based workflows into scalable, standardized processes aligned with Utility Network data models and business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure GIS solutions align with enterprise architecture and downstream system integrations.
• Support data readiness activities including data validation, migration support, and alignment to Utility Network standards and best practices.
• Extensive experience with geographically derived assessments, enterprise data integration, spatial data governance, metadata management and interpretation of business and performance metrics to support transformation objectives.
• Design, develop, and maintain web GIS applications using Esri tools including Experience Builder, Story Maps, Dashboards, Field Maps, and Survey123 within ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
Advanced GIS Data Management & Analysis-
• Perform complex GIS data analysis, segmentation, and restructuring of gas distribution assets to improve accuracy, consistency, and usability.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data inconsistencies and misalignments across GIS datasets and integrated systems.
• Validate digital redlines and data fields associated with gas services and distribution assets to meet production goals and compliance expectations.
• Support development of data validation rules, automation processes, and repeatable workflows to improve data quality.
Data Governance, Quality & Continuous Improvement-
• Establish and reinforce GIS data quality standards related to asset management.
• Identify systemic data issues and recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, or structural data changes to improve long-term data health.
• Develop and maintain standard work, job aids, and documentation to support consistent execution of GIS workflows.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance overall system usability.
