Position Overview:ARC is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to lead spatial data analysis and geospatial visualization for projects supporting transit system planning, asset management, and equity-centered infrastructure strategies. This role is central to helping clients make spatially-informed decisions across a range of capital and service planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and maintain geospatial databases for transit assets, customer data, and capital infrastructure.
Analyze spatial patterns and perform mapping to support planning decisions and policy analysis.
Build web-based or desktop dashboards and story maps for stakeholder engagement.
Support development of GIS layers for lifecycle planning, state of good repair, and funding prioritization.
Create custom spatial queries, heatmaps, route overlays, and impact area analyses.
Collaborate with data scientists, planners, and engineers on integrated tools and deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, urban planning, or related field. Master’s preferred.
6+ years of GIS experience, ideally in the transit or infrastructure sector.
Advanced proficiency with ArcGIS (Desktop, Pro, and Online), QGIS, and related spatial tools.
Familiarity with spatial statistics, transportation networks, and demographic overlays.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity and/or experience with state public transportation agencies, federal and state governing agencies and bodies and their regulations and requirements for infrastructure planning or delivery.
Exposure to scripting or programming for spatial data (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
Understanding of equity-focused planning, environmental justice mapping, or climate risk modeling.
