About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Big Data Developer to join our Enterprise Transparency Services team. In this role, you will design and develop scalable, cloud-native data solutions that enable business intelligence teams and data analysts to derive meaningful insights from large and complex datasets.
You will play a key role in building and optimizing data ingestion, transformation, validation, and dissemination pipelines using modern Java, AWS, and Big Data technologies.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and translate complex business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions using Core Java (JDK 17+)
• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/data pipelines leveraging AWS cloud and serverless technologies
• Build scalable and high-performance data processing solutions to support enterprise data platforms
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and supporting backend services
• Implement comprehensive automated testing strategies, including:
• Unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, or similar frameworks
• Functional/API testing using Playwright or comparable tools
• Performance testing using Gatling or equivalent frameworks
• Optimize application and data pipeline performance, including multithreading, concurrency, and memory management
• Participate in and lead code reviews and design review sessions, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices and architectural standards
• Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and release processes
• Provide technical expertise and support for production troubleshooting, incident resolution, and system maintenance
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
• 3+ years of experience working on Big Data and AWS-based projects
• 3+ years of experience developing and testing REST APIs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in complex enterprise environments
Required Technical Skills
• Deep expertise in Core Java (JDK 17+)
• Strong understanding of:
• Multithreading
• Concurrency
• Memory management
• Data structures and performance optimization
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and serverless architectures
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and database performance tuning
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools including:
• JUnit / Mockito (or similar)
• Playwright (or equivalent functional testing tools)
• Gatling (or equivalent performance testing tools)
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
• Python scripting experience
• Foundational knowledge of application security testing
• Hands-on DevOps and automation experience
