Role is focused on end‑to‑end data reconciliation and dashboarding for Medicaid encounter data flowing through multiple systems. Databricks is a strong plus but not a hard must‑have. Work starts with waterfall-style BRD, but execution is agile.
Key Opportunity Sell:
High‑impact analytics role supporting Medicaid compliance and financial reconciliation, with ownership over dashboards that track encounter acceptance/rejection across systems (QNXT → Encounter Data Manager → EDI → Medicaid). Strong mix of Databricks SQL optimization + Power BI enterprise modeling.
Must Haves (Simplified):
• Advanced SQL expertise for large‑scale datasets
• Strong Power BI dashboard and data model development
• Experience building reconciliation dashboards (counts, amounts, end‑to‑end tracking)
• Ability to optimize performance in both SQL and Power BI
• Strong communication skills and comfort translating BRDs into agile delivery
Pluses:
• Databricks SQL Warehouses
• Medicaid / healthcare data experience
• Encounter data, claims, or EDI exposure
• DMAS compliance familiarity
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards that reconcile encounter data from ingestion to final Medicaid submission
• Track counts, dollar amounts, and acceptance/rejection statuses across systems
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries (CTEs, window functions, joins, aggregations)
• Query structured and semi‑structured data sources
• Work with data flowing through QNXT → Encounter Data Manager → EDI
• Ensure data meets DMAS compliance before outbound submission
• Start work from waterfall-style BRDs, then deliver enhancements in an agile manner
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to validate accuracy and usability of reports
Core Technical Skills:
Databricks SQL & SQL Warehouse Management
• Databricks SQL Warehouses configuration & performance optimization
• Advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, subqueries, complex joins)
• Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
• Query plan interpretation and cost optimization
Power BI Development & Integration
• Power BI Desktop & Service
• Interactive dashboards, drill‑through, tooltips, bookmarks
• Visual best practices and performance tuning
Power Query (M) & DAX
• Advanced DAX (time intelligence, filter context optimization)
• Efficient tabular models (star/snowflake)
• Incremental refresh, query folding, large dataset handling
Data Sources & Integration
• Databricks, SQL Server, Azure SQL
• Excel, CSV, SharePoint, APIs
• Import vs DirectQuery vs Composite models
• Gateway management
Performance Optimization
• Power BI Performance Analyzer
• Dataset and model size optimization
• Refresh and scalability management
Security & Governance
• Row‑Level Security (RLS)
• Workspace and app security
• Data privacy and compliance awareness
AI & Advanced Analytics
• Power BI Copilot usage
• AI visuals (Key Influencers, Decomposition Tree, Smart Narratives)
• Anomaly detection and automated insights
