Akkodis is seeking a β βMachine Learning Engineer IIIβ for a Contract position with a client located in San Jose, CA (primary) or Chicago, IL.
Pay Range: $70 - $75/hr. (The rate/salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.).
Job Description Summary:
What You'll Do
β’ Redesign and optimize MLOps and decision platform for fraud detection
β’ Architect large-scale big-data infrastructure enabling cutting-edge ML models for real-time fraud prevention
β’ Collaborate with data scientists and platform engineers to automate workflows
β’ Ensure compliance, security, and maintainability across the fraud detection ecosystem
β’ Work with high-dimensional datasets using Python, PySpark, and BigQuery for fraud signal detection
β’ Standardize rules and decision processes while enabling dynamic rule updates and analytics
β’ Collaborate across engineering, product, and data science teams to scale solutions globally
Team & Project Context
β’ Works closely with the Core Automation team's tech leads/managers
β’ Joins the pioneer team rebuilding Next Generation Risk Platform (NGRP)
β’ Purpose: build an enterprise-wide risk platform supporting all business functions, on a tight timeline for decision engine adoption
β’ Extension/Conversion: No guaranteed extension; possible FTE conversion, but not promised
Typical Day
β’ Tasks distributed via Jira (sprint planning/grooming)
β’ Standups at least twice a week (daily if needed/blockers arise)
β’ Onboarding period requires heavier interaction with Engineering/Product/US Risk core teams; settles into a 50/50 split afterward
β’ Code hosted in centralized GitHub repo
β’ Documentation maintained on Wiki or SharePoint/shared drive
