Senior Manager / Lead Data Scientist

We’re Hiring: Senior Manager / Lead Data Scientist – Supply Chain & Demand Forecasting Location: Santa Clara, CA (Hybrid) Employment Type: Contract Visa-independent candidates are highly preferred. We are looking for a high-impact Data Science leader to drive the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning solutions for demand forecasting and root cause analytics within a supply chain environment. This role combines hands-on technical depth with strategic leadership, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy building production-grade ML systems while guiding teams and influencing business decisions. What You’ll Do • Architect and implement end-to-end ML pipelines (data → modeling → deployment → monitoring) • Lead development of time-series forecasting and probabilistic models • Apply advanced techniques such as gradient boosting (XGBoost, LightGBM) and quantile regression • Drive root cause analysis frameworks for supply chain demand variability • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across business, IT, and analytics • Lead and mentor a distributed team of data scientists (US & offshore) • Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership (VP/C-level) What We’re Looking For • 10–15 years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning • Strong expertise in Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, scipy) and ML engineering • Proven experience with demand forecasting / supply chain analytics • Deep understanding of: • Time-series modeling (ACF/PACF, change-point detection) • Probabilistic forecasting (pinball loss, Winkler score) • Ensemble methods (GBM, Random Forest) • Experience building production-grade, scalable ML pipelines • Strong SQL and data engineering fundamentals • Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, DVC) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) Nice to Have • Intermittent demand forecasting (Croston, SBA, ADI/CV²) • Forecast reconciliation (Top-down, Bottom-up, MinT) • Exposure to S&OP / IBP processes • Experience in consulting or client-facing roles Leadership & Impact • Lead and mentor a team of 3–6 data scientists • Own delivery timelines and technical quality • Act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and data science teams Apply now or reach out directly to learn more at pranav.mehroliya@consultstm.com #DataScienceJobs #MachineLearningJobs #HiringDataScientists #AIJobs #DataScienceCareers #PythonJobs #MLOps #XGBoost #LightGBM #DataEngineering BayAreaJobs #HiringNow
