Sparks Group has partnered with a leading scientific and professional membership organization in Washington, DC (hybrid) to identify a strategic and analytical Senior Manager, Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights. This individual will lead market research and competitive intelligence initiatives that help shape organizational strategy, product development, member engagement, and business growth. The ideal candidate is an experienced researcher and storyteller who can transform complex qualitative and quantitative data into actionable insights for executive leadership. This role is well suited for someone with a background in market research, management consulting, strategy, or customer insights who enjoys influencing business decisions through evidence-based recommendations.
Senior Manager, Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights Responsibilities:
• Lead strategic market research initiatives using qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to answer critical business questions.
• Conduct ongoing market intelligence, environmental scanning, and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, risks, and industry developments.
• Design and execute surveys, interviews, focus groups, concept testing, journey mapping, and other primary research activities.
• Analyze internal and external data sources to develop meaningful business insights and strategic recommendations.
• Produce executive-ready reports, presentations, benchmarking analyses, competitive intelligence briefings, and market landscape assessments.
• Develop dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms to monitor key market and business metrics.
• Synthesize findings from multiple research sources into clear, actionable recommendations that support strategic planning, innovation, customer experience, and organizational growth.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define research priorities, establish learning objectives, and communicate findings to executive leadership.
• Establish repeatable reporting frameworks, research methodologies, and visualization standards to support ongoing decision-making.
• Serve as a trusted advisor by presenting insights, facilitating workshops, and communicating market implications across the organization.
Senior Manager, Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Market Research, Business, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, Social Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in market research, market intelligence, competitive intelligence, strategic insights, management consulting, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing both qualitative and quantitative research studies.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex datasets into meaningful business recommendations.
• Experience conducting primary and secondary research, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and competitive analysis.
• Proficiency with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with research and analytics tools such as Qualtrics, SQL, R, Python, or comparable technologies is preferred.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with experience communicating findings to executive audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple research initiatives simultaneously while collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a passion for turning data into actionable business insights.
