Senior MDM & Data Governance Consultant – Life Sciences (GxP)

Engagement Overview We are seeking a senior-level MDM & Data Governance Consultant to lead the design and implementation of a Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Governance framework for a greenfield Life Sciences manufacturing site. This role will define data standards, governance structures, and operating models in a GxP-regulated environment, creating a scalable template for future global deployments. Key Responsibilities Define and implement the MDM strategy and governance operating model Establish data ownership, stewardship, and governance frameworks Identify master data domains and critical data elements (CDEs) Design data models, standards, naming conventions, and quality rules Ensure data integrity compliance (FDA, EMA, PMDA, ALCOA+) Conduct current-state assessment and gap analysis Develop a phased MDM roadmap and implementation plan Collaborate with IT, Quality, and Business teams across systems like ERP, MES, LIMS, QMS, CMMS Enable data integration governance aligned with Azure Integration Services Create SOPs, data dictionaries, and governance documentation Support data remediation activities (standardization, de-duplication) Key Deliverables MDM Strategy & Operating Model Data Governance Framework & SOPs Data Models & Standards Data Quality Rules & Data Dictionaries Gap Analysis & Roadmap Required Experience 15+ years in MDM, Data Governance, or Data Integrity Strong experience in Life Sciences / GxP environments Hands-on knowledge of ALCOA+ data integrity principles Experience building data governance frameworks from scratch Background in greenfield implementations Strong understanding of ERP–MES–LIMS–QMS data integration Technology Exposure (Required) Microsoft D365 ERP Azure Integration Services Veeva Vault (Quality) LabVantage (LIMS/ELN/LES) POMSnet (MES) ValGenesis (VLMS) CMMS platforms Soft Skills Strong stakeholder management (IT, Quality, Business) Ability to lead as an individual contributor Excellent communication and workshop facilitation Strong documentation and governance mindset Ideal Candidate A hands-on MDM & Data Governance expert with deep Life Sciences experience, capable of building governance frameworks from the ground up and delivering scalable, compliant data solutions in a complex system landscape.
