Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to support the People Team by producing analytical insight that enables the team to deliver on our strategic priorities but also helps shape strategic direction for our leadership and Executive teams.
This role has a strong data and analytical component which requires building and maintaining effective data sets and the effective dissemination and reporting of results, interpretations, and implications to a wide variety of stakeholders with different levels of analytical understanding.
The post holder will need to proactively drive the improvement, implementation, and integration of analytics into the People Team, so previous generalist HR experience is beneficial.
This role will provide the opportunity to work closely on strategic project work for the business and to work closely with other members of the People Team as well as other departments and external agencies to ensure the People Team are consistent in our reporting methodology.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide analytical support and contribute to the delivery of a number of projects and initiatives on an ad-hoc basis during a time of significant change at Channel 4
• As necessary, provide input on the statistical and graphical content for project reports – especially around diversity, headcount and change management.
• Responsible for market data submission. Manage the preparation of data for the business, delivery to time scales and be the key point of contact for market data providers
• Provide job evaluation and compensation analysis support to the Reward Lead
• Create and embed a standardised reporting methodology for the People Team, including how we present our data, management, auditing, and governance.
• Develop, and deliver a variety of company-wide HR measures, reports, and queries through consultation with stakeholders that are aligned to the People and business strategy
• Ensure that HR data is aligned to other core business data
• Interpret results and identify key strategic themes, using internal and external data to identify risks and opportunities that can inform our People Team strategy.
• Perform specialised ad-hoc predictive and prescriptive analysis using internal and external data from multiple systems utilising appropriate statistical techniques to provide actionable insight
• Use technology to enhance how we analyse and display our data to our audience.
• Share best practice and other teachings with the wider People Team to build their data literacy and confidence
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Technical & Professional Skills
• Excellent experience of analysing information, drawing insights and forming recommendations
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, Power BI and DAX skills as well as strong general IT and MS Office skills
• Highly numerate and confident in explaining calculations and concepts
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines
• Proven experience of data analysis and data modelling
• Experience of developing and owning data governance efforts
• A trusted advisor with exceptional integrity and confidentiality
• Comfortable working to and managing complex projects to deadlines
Autonomy/Judgement/Decision Making
• Works proactively with high levels of initiative and a drive for continuous improvement
• Proven influencing skills and ability to work collaboratively both upwards and at peer level with functional and business colleagues.
