Senior Power BI Consultant Location: Hybrid – Atlanta or Remote (U.S.) Employment Type: Contract Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Power BI Consultant to take full ownership of our client’s enterprise Power BI environment. This is a highly strategic, hands-on role for a senior-level expert who can operate at both the architectural and development levels across the full Power BI stack. This individual will be responsible for designing and governing semantic models, validating data warehouse logic, ensuring data integrity and security, and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade reporting solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills and can serve as the Power BI subject matter expert across the organization. Key Responsibilities • Architect, design, and own the enterprise Power BI environment end-to-end • Lead full-stack Power BI development (data source validation → semantic modeling → report/dashboard delivery) • Design and optimize scalable semantic models (datasets) aligned to business domains • Experience with DAX to support complex reporting needs is highly preferred • Validate data warehouse schemas, table structures, relationships, and business logic • Partner with data engineering to ensure proper upstream transformations and data modeling standards • Establish governance frameworks, naming standards, performance optimization strategies, and best practices • Implement and manage enterprise-level security, including row-level security (RLS) and access controls • Troubleshoot performance issues across models and reports • Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions • Educate internal users on Power BI capabilities and promote self-service BI best practices • Serve as the organization’s Power BI authority and strategic advisor Required Qualifications • 8+ years of BI/analytics experience with 5+ years in advanced Power BI development • Experience operating at an architect or lead level within enterprise environments • Deep expertise in: • Power BI Service and Desktop • Semantic data modeling (star schema, performance optimization) • Advanced DAX • Data warehouse validation and logic verification • BI security design and governance • Strong understanding of ETL processes and upstream data architecture • Proven ability to own and scale BI platforms • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders • Experience driving stakeholder engagement and influencing BI strategy What We’re Looking For • Architect-level technical depth with hands-on development capability • Strategic thinker who can design for scale and long-term maintainability • Ownership mindset — someone who will fully lead and elevate the Power BI function • Strong business acumen paired with exceptional communication skills About GSquared Group: Shouldn’t your recruiting partner put as much effort and value into your career as you do?
