Job Title: Programmer – Advanced (Power BI Developer) (9345)
Work Type: Cayce, SC Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Contract Duration: 12 Months + Likely Extensions
Position Overview
The Client is seeking an experienced Programmer – Advanced to support agency-wide data visualization and public health infrastructure initiatives. This role will focus heavily on Power BI dashboard development, data modeling, technical documentation, and backend integration to support accurate fiscal reporting, auditing, and executive decision-making.
The contractor will play a key role in designing and developing advanced dashboards, mentoring junior developers, and supporting enterprise-level reporting solutions across multiple public health programs.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, modification, and upgrades of agency computer systems supporting health services
• Develop and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards, KPIs, and visualizations to support fiscal-year calculations, expenditure rollups, and audit-ready reporting
• Design and implement data models and backend schemas to support dashboard architecture
• Create and maintain monthly snapshot architectures, workflow diagrams, and data flow documentation
• Develop and update technical documentation, system definitions, and data dictionaries
• Integrate dashboards with supporting backend systems, including electronic document management systems (EDM) and geographic information systems (GIS)
• Collaborate with data analysts, system integration teams, and program stakeholders to ensure accurate and effective data visualization
• Monitor backend system processes, troubleshoot issues, and resolve customer-reported problems
• Mentor junior developers and support agency-wide Power BI initiatives
• Provide administrative documentation and project-related communications
• Adhere to IT application development standards and best practices
• Perform other duties as assigned by IT leadership
Required Skills
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI
• 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining technical documentation
• 1+ year of experience with project management
• 1+ year of experience with data modeling
Preferred Skills
• Experience with graphic design principles for data visualization
• Experience using Python
• Experience working with SQL
