Job Title: Senior Python Developer with Databricks and Kafka Location: Iselin, NJ (3 days onsite per week) Domain: Capital Markets – Derivatives / Fixed Income About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Developer to join our IT Derivatives/Fixed Income team. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Python-based solutions for Front Office applications. These applications will leverage vendor tools such as PyXLL, QuestDB, ArconTech, and Databricks, with a focus on enabling the trading desk to operate efficiently. The role involves active collaboration with traders and quantitative analysts, troubleshooting critical issues, optimizing system performance, and developing new features to align with business strategies in the Capital Markets space. Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and configure Python applications based on trading desk requirements. • Work closely with traders and quants to analyze workflows, gather requirements, and deliver tailored solutions. • Provide accurate work estimates for time, resources, and risks, while keeping project managers informed throughout the lifecycle. • Develop scalable coding architecture, ensuring modular, reusable, and well-documented solutions. • Maintain high code quality using static/dynamic code analysis, security scans, CI/CD pipeline integration, automated testing, and peer reviews. • Participate in all phases of the software delivery lifecycle – from requirement analysis and design to testing, deployment, and production support. • Support and enhance existing applications used in daily Front Office trading operations, ensuring reliability and performance. Required Skills • Strong expertise in Python development (design, optimization, debugging, deployment). • Experience with Python environment setup on both Windows and Linux. • Hands-on experience with Databricks and Kafka for real-time and batch data processing. Preferred Skills • Familiarity with .NET / C#. • Experience with REST API development and integration (including enterprise authentication). • Strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server and/or Sybase. • Prior experience supporting trading desks in a Capital Markets environment.
